Andrea Beisner is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner whose journey into mental health care began with a profound sense of purpose shaped by her military service. As an EMT-B in the United States Air Force Reserves from 2011 to 2019, she witnessed firsthand the mental health struggles many service members faced after deployments. This transformative experience ignited her passion for helping others navigate their mental health challenges and inspired her transition into psychiatric care, where she has continued working with veterans and understanding the critical importance of feeling truly heard and understood.
“Today, I work with people of all ages and focus on creating care plans that are tailored to each individual. Sometimes this includes medication, but I also take a holistic approach – working with primary care providers, reviewing labs and vitals, and connecting you with outside resources when needed.”
Andrea earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health Across the Lifespan from the University of South Alabama in December 2023, with subspecialty training in Advanced Forensic Nursing Care. Her educational foundation also includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the same institution. Before transitioning to psychiatric practice, she built eight years of diverse medical experience as a registered nurse, including roles in medical-surgical units, intensive care, travel nursing across California, Washington, and Hawaii, and endoscopy services. This comprehensive medical background provides her with a unique understanding of how physical and mental health interconnect.
Her clinical training in psychiatric care includes experience at respected facilities such as Keturah Health, a private psychiatric clinic offering comprehensive mental health care across the lifespan, and MultiCare Behavioral Health Network in Washington State, where she gained experience in both community outpatient settings and residential transition programs. She also completed rotations at Psych Dimensions, which emphasizes wellness, psychotherapy, restoration, and medication management, giving her a well-rounded perspective on various approaches to mental health treatment.
Andrea brings a uniquely holistic approach to psychiatric care that sets her apart. Her treatment philosophy recognizes that effective mental health care often requires looking beyond just psychiatric symptoms to understand the whole person. She collaborates closely with primary care providers, reviews laboratory results and vital signs when relevant, and actively connects patients with community resources and support systems that can enhance their overall wellbeing and recovery.
Andrea’s appointment structure reflects her commitment to building genuine therapeutic relationships. Her goal is to create a collaborative partnership where each person feels supported in a way that feels both personalized and empowering, ensuring that every individual receives the time and attention they deserve on their path to improved mental health.
