Alexandra Ficula is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach to mental health care at Kind Psychiatry. Her unique journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from SUNY ESF, where she developed an appreciation for interconnected systems that naturally evolved into her passion for understanding the complex connections within mental health. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin as an Alternate Entry Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, where she was recognized with the Integrated Behavioral Health Addiction & Recovery Scholarship.
“I believe that each person deserves a treatment path as unique as they are. That’s why I take the time to truly listen to your lived experiences and work collaboratively with you to develop the best possible treatment plan. I understand that you are the expert on your own life, and sometimes the best treatment doesn’t involve medications at all.”
Alexandra’s clinical experience spans the full spectrum of psychiatric care, from acute inpatient settings at Austin Lakes Hospital to comprehensive addiction recovery programs at facilities like Infinite Recovery and Makana Path. This diverse background has equipped her with expertise in crisis stabilization, detox management, residential treatment, and long-term recovery planning. Her experience managing complex cases across multiple levels of care has given her unique insight into the various pathways to mental wellness and recovery.
Currently serving patients at Kind Psychiatry since April 2025, Alexandra also maintains her role with Comprehensive Psychiatry, PLLC, providing care across multiple levels of treatment intensity. She works with individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges, from those experiencing their first psychiatric symptoms to those with complex, treatment-resistant conditions requiring innovative approaches.
Her approach to psychiatric care is deeply patient-centered, recognizing that effective treatment requires genuine partnership between provider and patient. Alexandra works collaboratively with individuals whether they’re seeking medication management, exploring alternatives to current treatments, or prefer non-pharmacological approaches. She creates a judgment-free environment where patients feel safe to share openly about their experiences and concerns, tailoring her care to meet each person exactly where they are in their mental health journey. Her goal is to support every individual in moving toward their unique mental health goals with compassion, understanding, and respect for their expertise about their own lives.
